Now that you have a list of materials needed to install your work, let's write a to-do list for your artist assistant/art handler.
For this assignment:
1. Title your post as follows: "Post 6 / [Title of your project] / [*Method of installation or presentation] / [Dimensions of your work]"
*Be specific in writing about your installation method. Include:
A. The material your artwork is made from.
B. The necessary hardware (e.g., nails, screws).
C. The surface on which you will place your artwork (e.g., a wall, display panel).
**Examples:
- Outdoor video projection
- Chalkboard screwed onto a wall
- Letter-sized print paper thumb-tacked on a community bulletin board
- Publicly shared video uploaded to a media-sharing platform
2. Include images: Add pictures depicting your installation method.
3. Step-by-Step Instructions: Write detailed step-by-step installation instructions for your assistant. Below is an example:
1- You will need a ladder, a drill, four #6 x 1-1/4" screws, a tape measure, a pencil, and blue tape.
2- The artwork is made of foam core board and measures 40" x 30".
3- When you enter 100 Culver Ave, Jersey City, NJ, you will see the front desk.
4- Position the left edge of the board 3 feet to the right of the corner across from the front desk as marked in the reference picture.
5- The center of the artwork should be placed at 60 inches from the floor.
6- Mark all corners with blue tape, then step back from the wall to confirm that the board is visible from outside through the window and is straight and even.
7- Once confirmed, pre-drill four holes and then insert the screws.
8- Take a few pictures to send to the office for final approval.
