Post 2 / Research / The Nomad's Mugshot

While doing research for my article, I started to question the censorship that keeps happening. I keep thinking about the fear/confusion most of immigrants go through whenever it comes to ICE. For my article it would be consider a huge international issue, arresting foreign workers that came here under law and everything prepared. Stripped from their dignity, and humiliated by ICE, no a single try of communication, or questioning, but instant arrest and detainment.

For my BFA project I will be doing a series of illustrations based on the life of a nomad on this fantasy like world that I will be developing, going through his own self-discovery journey,  The idea to travel without a care or vast knowledge of a place is a privilege nowadays. Immigrants are seeing as an aliens, a stereotype to a vast majority, thinking people could be illegal on stolen land is absurd but somehow that's reality. I want to illustrate the life of this nomad, going from struggle, to conflict, to resolution, and to an ending.

Adjacent project: The Nomad's Mugshot

For my Adjacent project, I will illustrate two mugshots of my nomad, to demonstrate how insensitive and desensitized news are of this topic, mainly to bring more awareness and justice to all the legal/illegal immigrants being detained due to stereotypes.
