Artist Statement

The work that I do involves with my photography knowledge and skills. Some of my work that I've shot with my camera is landscapes, portraits and self portraits, black and white, nature photography, sea scapes, macro photography and etc. However, I've been focusing mostly with product photography. My latest project I worked on this year was my sneaker photography. All the sneakers you see in each image was shot in the lighting studio. Shooting sneakers in a lighting studio is crucial because it provides controlled, consistent illumination that highlights the product's details, textures, and colors accurately. Studio lighting allows for precise control over shadows and highlights, helping to create a professional and desirable image that can evoke emotion and drive sales.

I made this sneaker project to not only show my love for sneakers and to show off my                 favorite sneakers from my collection, but because I believe showing sneakers to the audience who         are sneaker heads and who are not is important. The reason for that is because sneakers are crucial         for self-expression, building emotional connections, and as a form of communication in a visually-        driven culture. High-quality images are essential for e-commerce, as they allow customers to                evaluate quality, style, and details, and they are a vital tool for marketing and storytelling on social         media. That's one thing I learn from doing product photography and if I plan doing advertising as            well.

Each sneaker image you see have different backdrops and some are in a flat surface, while a         few are floating the air, and one that has a very unique lighting. You get curious on why each shoe         are flying in mid air and how I'm making them pop out. One of them is definitely editing software.         As for the magic shoes in the air, I've used a few materials to do it. A cord string to go through the         laces and a tripod to hang the shoe. I wanted one shoe to stay together and having them both touch         each other so I tapped them together while not having the tape show in the image. I needed a few             people to help me in the studio to make this project happen and thanks to them, it came out how I         wanted it to be.
