Dear Dr. Ruth Cummings-Hypolite
Hello Dr. Ruth Cummings-Hypolite, I hope my message finds you well. My name is Cierrah J. Kelly, and I am an illustrator at New Jersey City University. I have an important message that I want to spread through the school district in New Jersey about parents needing to monitor their kids, especially on the phone. I want to put posters throughout the school district stating the dangers of unmonitored internet access and how many have been poorly affected. Many are gaining porn addiction at such a young age due to the accessibility of such content, and many are being exposed to gore/gruesome deaths, and also becoming addicted to watching such explicit videos. Many of these contents disguise themselves as innocent child-like characters and appear unassuming, making parents not think twice when they check on their children while they watch such videos.
I know you are the director of early childhood, so you already have a better understanding of the dangers of unmonitored internet access on child development. Still, I want to come forward as someone greatly affected by unmonitored internet access, and many others. Our parents went out of their way to watch and monitor us, yet we could still watch such content. I want to put out these posters to raise awareness among parents and guardians to thoroughly restrict their devices to protect their children or give them better alternatives that don’t involve a phone, computer, tablet, etc.
Thank you so much for your time
Sincerely,
Cierrah Kelly
